Javascript books

G-Money

Any recommendations for Javascript books or online tutorials? I'm working with Javascript and jQuery and I know nothing about either and they're doing my head in as a result.

I need some good reference material to look up.

Any links or books you'd recommend?

I'd recommend forgetting about jQuery until you have a very good grounding in javascript. I tried to do both at the same time and had so much heartache, I could never get my head around either, I gave up.

Get something like Chrome and create a simple sandbox document to test stuff out on, and play with the dev tools.

Hi G-Money, the tutorials at http://www.w3schools.com/js/default.asp are good but basic which is what you want i guess, if you want a book i would suggest

Its a lot more in-depth but very readable.

There was someone who posted in this forum on another thread about tutorials and they were talking about some YouTube videos. The NewBoston I think it's called, I will check that out. Apparently it got good reviews.

Cant recommend it highly enough for beginners like me.
