Thought a list like this might be useful.

Thomas House on Thomas St and the Andrewa Lane Theatre. Very friendly. :) Former has gay literature and holds the Furry Glen and the latter attracts a lot of gay customers :) Nealons also on Capel St :)

Anyone any other places to add to the list?

Not so much a pub as a grotty club (but with plenty of charm) - Costellos Tavern in Limerick is fairly gay friendly.

Gay-friendly non-gay bars? The Front Lounge :P :pac:

As for The Globe on George's Street - I came across a gay couple there one night who said that they had just been verbally abused by a customer. Unfortunately, nowhere is completely "safe".

In my own experience, back in the day when my own hair was too short and hence I needed to wear a wig, I had it pulled while in The Dragon.

Problem is nowhere can fully control all their patrons, especially when people have had drink on them.

And as for The Dragon, that's more of a younger crowd who'd find it hilarious to do that- don't forget that the LGBT community can sometimes be the most hostile to anyone outside the gay/lesbian binary. Even then I've had gay boys slag off other lesbians to my face, and probably me behind my back to someone else too.

Belfast - most decent city centre pubs are gay friendly, the ones that aren't well, frankly you wouldn't be welcome unless you were a "regular" regardless of what your orientation is! These are some of my favourites.

    Muriels
    Duke of York
    The Spaniard
    The Black Box
    The Garrick
    McHughs
    White's Tavern

Roisín Dubh in Galway is pretty gay friendly in my experience, Tuesday is gay night in CPs (Central Park if you're not from around here =P) and heard good things about the Blue Note as well but havne't been there much myself so can't really comment.

Always found pubs in most of Galway CC to be gay friendly!

    Thanks for the links all!
