This used to happen me to an extent. small things like cutting out dairy for a few hours before running and being well hydrated (reduces vicosity?) before hand helped for me. You could have an underlying infection too which is contributing so make sure you dont overdo it if this is the case. best of luck

Dairy and orange juice or similar juice. If you want vitamin C then cranberry juice.

    Stopped it for me.

Some people just naturally produce more phlem than others. I tend to produce a large amount of it too. Never thought of it as a problem or did anything to try solve it.

I was, and still am, really like that when running. Its ok on the bike or running outside u can spit away to hearts content, but not in gyms etc ! thanks for info on cranberry juice etc...makes sense, cutting down on cheese and milk would prob be no harm.
Recently though i smoke a bit and it is getting to the stage where i nearly get sick from the phlegm i have built up on long runs ... my own fault of course

During winter... I am a phlegm machine....
On windy days like today, I end up covered head to toe in my own spittle..

Well if you have a cold they say take vitamin C but if you drink orange juice or similar it will make loads of flem. I never drink that when I am sick. Vitamin C (the orangy one that dissolve are ok) when sinuses are blocked.

I used to spend most of the time spitting running before. I would hop in the car in the morning and have to open the door to spit out or into a tissue. Really annoying to be honest. Cranberry Juice and cutting out all dairy for a few days did it and gradually intro it back in.

    I also suffer with phlegm,
Gave up dairy, orange and orange juice but no change,
I was asked before Christmas if a ate a lot of Banana's and was told that it was the cause of phlegm building up, as the body can find it hard to break them down.
I use to eat 2/3 everyday, now i am off them but not long enough to know if i am any better as i am recovering from a head cold at the moment.

Will give them up for a while to see if it help's
