Insulating cavity block walls.

There is a company who claim they can fill cavity block walls with a foam. ...
Are they offering to fill each cavity block with insulation? Each cavity block has two "chambers" each of which needs to be filled with insulating material. AFAIK the only way to do this is to drill the wall with twice as many holes as you have blocks to pump insulation in. Feasible? I don't know.

If they are offering to pump insulating material into the cavity between the inner and outer leaves of blocks this is an absolute no-no as that will form a thermal bridge and cut off air circulation between the leaves, leading to more cold plus fungus growth and dampness in the house.

The video you link to (which may explain everything in detail) is very jumpy (may be my connection) so I couldn't watch it. Sorry

Wouldn't touch with a barge pole! Waste of time (in my opinion).

All filling the cavitiies of hollow block with insultaion does is increase the heat flow through the un-insulated/solid section of the block!

    thanks for the comments.

filling a cavity wall however is ok, yeah?

Generally, yes. But I would suggest not with foam.

    +1
A few years ago I did a thermal imaging survey of a house after their cavity block wall had been filled with foam by a well known insulation company based in the midlands. The results were the same as if the blocks had not been filled. A total waste of money.
This same company claimed that because 80% percent of the wall had been pumped that it was 80% as good as filling a cavity wall. I'm still waiting on their engineering/technical report to back this up.:)
