On the application form for rent supplement it requires the names and PPS numbers for the people you live with.

What happens if they refuse to give me their PPS numbers?

I always wondered about that. Surely under data protection laws you're not allowed to just give out the names and PPS numbers of others. Sorry I don't have the answer but want to know myself.

if you can t get em,put a note in with the form ,i can t get x, s pps no.
This puzzles me , i understand they want to know whos living in a house, but why the hell should anyone need a co tenants pps no.
What right do i have to ask for someones no ,especially if they are not on rent allowance .
WHY should i give my no to someone who is not an official,or civil servant , just cos i happen to live in the same house.
DO we not have enough problems with identity theft ,fraud already
    already.
if joe bloggs on the dole is living there ,they,ll already have his no.

ARE they trying to segregate people on rent allowance ,stop em living with working tenants
I THINK their names will be enough anyway.
