UPC TV - Multiroom included??

    Hi,

I have a phone/tv/bb package with UPC. I have the digital box in the living room, which is fine.

I also have a TV in the kitchen and plug it directly into the TV socket to get the 15(?) standard channels, no box required.

I have a TV in a bedroom upstairs but get nothing when I plug it into the TV socket.

How can I arrange it so that I get the channels like in the kitchen?
I assume that it has nothing to do with UPC, and that what I have in the kitchen should be available elsewhere in the house? If so what do I do to sort it out?

    Thanks

Was the socket in the bedroom installed by UPC (it will usually, in ex-NTL areas, have the UPC, NTL, or Cablelink logo on it). If not, it might not be wired to anything, it might have been intended for use with a rooftop aerial.

If it does, try doing a channel search on your TV. If that doesn't work, ring UPC and get them to send out an engineer to look at it.

The "15 standard channels" are UPC's analogue service.

No the socket wasn't supplied by UPC, it was installed by the builder when the house was being built. I've been in the attic looking at where the cables come in from the box on the soffit and it's two black cables which have splitters on them to provide four cables going down out of sight, that's as far as I've got. Also, there are actually 5 points in the house..?

So I am entitled to UPC's analogue service around the house anyway yes?
And the fact that it only works in one room and not the rest is a fault?

What I'm basically asking is am I able to get a UPC techie out to sort this out or will they tell me it's not their problem?

    Thanks

if you are billed for the points indivually by UPC then UPC will take care of them, however if they are not offically connected company policy is to disconnect them although in practice Techs will probably leave them alone if they dont impact on the service where they are official. There are no 'free' services provided by UPC and the analogue service isnt some sort of entitlement to past customers who havent been disconnected (due to UPC,NTL,Chorus) oversights

Thanks nw, that's basically what I was getting at.

I'll have to look into it so and see if I can get extra points put in by UPC, or where I go from here to get TV to the other points around the house.

    Hi JCDUB

Just jumping in here to help.

Call my guys on 1890940635 for assistance.

If we can locate and connect the cable points to our network there will be no connection charges. If we need to recable a point, we charge €50.

You will then be billed €3.55 per month for each additional analogue tv point used.

    Hope that helps

    Regards

    Jason
