    1. Son Received DSi for Christmas also an R4i card
    2. All was working perfectly until an hour ago when ...............
    3. I tried to connect the DSi to our home WiFi and was successful hooking up to it (eventually)
    4. Loaded whatever system update that was available.
    5. After everything updated etc. eveytime I try to access the R4i card it tells me 'ERROR - LOOK UP SYSTEM MANUAL' (or words to that effect)
    6. Cannot access R4i at all - formatted mini SD card and downloaded latest homebrew firmware etc. but no joy
    7. Wondering if it had anything to do with updating firmware while R4i was plugged into machine
    8. Now here's the real killer - daughter also has new DSi with R4i card and I managed to connect to net, update system software and stilluse the R4i after all this -
    9. Any advice please ??????

Without pressing you for more troubleshooting lets presume one r4 has newer firmware to other one. find the latest firmware and apply it to the son's one.

Sounds like you updated the dsi when connecting to the net, and it has blocked the card, check website on the front of the card and see if an update is available for 1.4.3 and perform the update in a regular ds and try it in the dsi again, one of the cards may have been ready for 1.4.3 the other may not, have you tried your daughters card in your sons dsi?
