    Right lads,

I don't know if this is a new idea or even really workable but I have an idea.

I was thinking, would a few of the lads from Galway/nearby like to start a brew club.

We could come together and share ideas, experiment with methods and techniques, maybe buy more expensive eqipitment together and if our brews are successful we could think about entering them in competitions and so on.

I have no idea where/how this would work just yet but it's an Idea I really think could work.

    Anyone else interested?

Just looking there and they seem to be more interested in just doing meet ups and chatting etc, I'd be more interested in actively working as a team to produce an exceptional brew or two with a view of competing in festivals and so forth.

Who knows, we could get lucky, find a masterpeice and win some medals :)

I reckon you'd have to organise the festivals as well as the beer :p

I was thinking more of competing in established festivals in the UK, but, sure, why not?!

With the amount of homebrewers now a days there would be interest! Invite the brewers from a few of the Irish micro breweries, maybe a chef or two to be the judges, it could be a good idea!

091 Labs set up a brewing club. I was a big part of it before I left Galway.

I dont think they are running events as such any more, but many of the members get together and make their own brews and share tricks. Its mostly kit brewing and simple brews, but many of the members that are still there are at the stage where they are experimenting with different flavourings and tricks.

You can search this thread for a few announcements, or contact http://091labs.com directly, or sign up to the https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/091-food google group
