Plenty of options of running clubs in that area !
Civil service harriers - meet and train in the phoenix park opposite the zoo , always plenty of beginners joining! www.phoenixparkrunners.ie is the website !
Liffey valley athletic club have there clubhouse in islandbridge - also handy for kilmainhaim

Donore harriers in chapelizod - a bit further out but still close up!

Hey RQ- I'm pretty close to Donore myself and have been thinking about joining. What do I do, just show up on a Tuesday or Thursday night? What time? Thanks....

People usually start showing up at about 6:45, there's always someone in the club shop which is to your right as you come in the main door and they can point you to who you should talk to. Feel free to PM me if you want to know anything.
