Minecraft keeps crashing

I recently got minecraft, and enjoying so far however it keeps crashing on me, would go no more than 20 min without a crash. It just quits the completely, no warning or that, once or twice when it did it it gave a message that it was running out of memory and so was quitting. When I start it back up I'm back just where I was when it quit so its not the worst but still annoying as if i am moving something about I often loose that item.

I've attached an error log which it dumps out but is meaningless to me, hoping someone can help. I've about 20 or 30 of them but they all look more or less the same.

if your on pc here are some things to try...on a mac? need a mac user to suggest some things.

make sure to update java on your pc. if your os is 64bit then you need both 32 and 64 bit versions. right click my computer and click properties, in that window you will see how much ram your pc has as well as the os type...32 or 64
    http://java.com/en/download/faq/java_win64bit.xml

next is to allocate more ram to minecraft, thats if you have more there.

ooop meant to reply myself to this, got myself sorted after bit of googling.
thanks for getting back to me though.

I increased the allocated ram alright and turned down th evideo settings, mind you it still uses a ridiculous amount. on short distance view shadows off still up at 7 to 8 hundred megs of ram.

notch got lucky, the popularity of the game is whats carried him...not his ability to drive it. it is a great game, just could be much better if it wasnt written in java.
