Looked at a 01 Rover 25 today. It had three keys, one for the door, one for the boot and one to start it up.

Anyone have any suggestions as to why it had 3 different keys. Rang alarm bells for me.

Also, how much would it cost to fix it so it would be 1 key + central locking fixed?

Presumably it was broken into at some time. New locks and an igntion barrel from a scrapyard would be the most cost effective way to sort it if you really wanted to. Can be gotten new too..........

How much would you guess it would be including fitting?

Not a clue, isn't there remote central locking in it anyway?

Ok thanks anyway. There is central locking but its not working. I found a kit on eBay for €50 which includes ignition, 2 front doors and tailgate. Would it just be a matter of swapping them or is it quite complicated?

The door locks and boot wouldn't be too bad, ignition barrel I dunno about, should be ok ish though.

If your central locking doesn't work off the fob you'd want to have the EKA code to deactivate the immobiliser should you ever change the battery in the car.

As fair as I know the seller doesn't have the EKA code but I think I can get it from http://www.mgrovercodes.com/eka-codes/

Found a site that provides the remote control programmer too so think I should be ok? (famous last words..)
