Just trying to see what other peoples Energy bills are for 2011 .

Yes some houses are better insulated etc . But its the cost that I am after .

4 bedroom house Dormer, 14yrs old

below is never colder than 19,5 but warmer

upstairs never colder than 17 but warmer. ( Apart from one box room /office that has a bad air leaking roof window)

Few small issues with roof windows leaking air but will be addresses soon.

    Attic insulated well

Front and back door of country standards 14 yrs ago so need to be addressed

zoned etc Hot water and rads heated by oil.

So a normal house of that period with newish insulation and small issues being addressed

My Energy Bill for 2011 includes coal , oil and Electricity from 1jan-31Dec2011 €1816:)

    Thank you for your input

2bedroom semi detached, well insulated, HE gas boiler

    heating & gas cooking £400year / approx 480euro
heating timeclock is on 24hrs a day and is controlled at the room stat in the hall, sitting at 21 degrees in winter while we are in and 18 degrees while we are out, sits at 15 degrees during the summer but wont kick on. system has TRVs and powershower connected, HW valves opens for 1hr in morning and 1 hr in evening, extra hr boost sometimes required if everyone is having a shower/bath (2 adults + bath for child). I top up my gas meter £50 per month from Sept-April whether it needs it or not, this builds up and gives me gas to use over the summer, albeit using very little (HW&cooking only).

electricity meter is topped up about £70 month, slightly less in the summer months. my wife doesn't believe in hanging clothes out to dry so pretty much everything gets tumbledried, probably 7-10 washes a week, dishwasher would be on intensive wash about 5 times a week, computer server runs 24/7.

I'm still fairly happy at the costs of everything and don't mind paying that, savings could be made though.

Hi Sparkpea . Ye energy bills are so much cheaper in the North.

Sounds like you have things well under control there.:)
