I have 2 pet dogs , both expert in stalking can food and left over from our meals.
But when it comes to track an injured deer or woodcock, forget about it
Anyway , to prepare next season, i am looking for a gun dog to go rough shooting as well as be able to track a deer if needed.
Anybody out there has any recommendation as to which dog would be best ?
Do you all rough shooter / stalkers have 2 or more dogs ?
    Thanks

Well I can't say for deer but for rough shooting and woodcock in particular a springer is hard bet. From what I gather here a lot of lads use some of the HPR breeds for deer. They will be able to point you in the right direction for deer anyway.

For your needs I think a HPR breed or else a lab would be what you need. The next Weimaraner I get I'm going to use for rough shooting and deer. Springers and cockers would be perfect for the rough shooting but I think their too hyper for deer
