Is there anywhere I can find out what the average gas bill is for a 3-4 bed house (not double glazed)?

What do you consider 'use it sparingly'?

Our bill for Nov / Dec was 149.00. We have had a new boiler fitted recently and new heating controls. It hasnt been particularly cold but have heating on as follows
Heat rads upstairs for 30 mins in morn and 1 hr before bed
Heat rads downstairs for hour in morning and 2 hours in evening.
Water on for hour and half in morning and half hour in evening

I am wondering how to run the heating efficiently too. Have my bills from last year from January on so will be able to compare from my next bill.
    Hope this helps

Its not just about using the gas/heating.

Its also to do with the house and its insulation too.

Our last one for Nov/Dec was €85 for a 2 bedroom bungalow. We also have an open fire which we light most evenings.. The best bit of advice I was ever given was to keep your heating on lower but for longer. Blasting it for a few hours a day costs more just to boost up (apparently) also it cools down quicker.

Maybe an old house without insulation or double glazing, and the back door left open. :p

and the freezer left open to create a cool misty effect , when you walk into the kitchen .

how often is the meter read ? is there any chance this is because of a meter reading or do they spread the balance out if its way over the estimates?

Just on a side note, anyone know who's offering the best
    gas prices at the moment?
Or are they all pretty much the same?
