Amazon will charge you the Irish VAT rate.

There will be no duty due on import, since you are buying from within the EU.

Thank you! So if the price is 214£ should I put 20% on top?

In the past I bought a blackberry and an ipad on ebay and did not have to pay anything extra, would the Irish VAT be charged by Amazon and paid at the source or at the time of delivery?

Thank you so much for your help.

No, you take off the UK VAT and then slap on the Irish VAT, otherwise it would be double taxation.

    Can't remember the UK rate - 17.5%?

If it is then divide the price by 1.175 and multiply by 1.23 which is effectively the same as uplifting the (VAT inclusive) UK price by 4.68%. In your example, £214 (shipped to the UK) will become £224 (shipped to Ireland).

The price will be adjusted by Amazon when you're checking out, you'll see the net (of delivery) price go up as soon as you say you want it shipped to Ireland.
