    Hey people,

I am a Final Arts student here in NUIG currently doing History as one of my subjects and was curious as to whether anyone could give me some feedback on the Masters course in NUI Galway? I will be applying to other Universities but Galway would be handy as I would be able to keep my living costs the way they are at the moment :D.
Any feedback is much appreciated. Cheers.

    Hey there,

I'm half way through the History MA at NUIG, and am finding it quite good. I got a first class honours in my undergrad, which I also completed here, and as a result had no problem getting onto the masters course. It provides an excellent overview of history, and also develops analytic and research skills. The work load is quite heavy but definitely bearable, and so far I have enjoyed the course very much. Whether it suits you or not depends on how deep your interest in history is and if you have the determination to tackle areas which may not interest you at all. Hope this helps a little, let me know if you've any more queries.

Thanks for the response. History would be the favourite of my two subjects and I also have a great personal interest in the subject so I wouldn't mind doing some modules which I dislike.

Just wondering if you could enlighten me as regards to the content of the course? I find the description of some of the modules on the website a bit vague:P.
