I have an 03 Alfa 147 .. recently she has developed a flat battery if left idle for a day or two.

I fully charged the battery about three weeks ago after a few non starts and jump starts and all has been great (incl not driven for a week) until yet again tonight a flat battery after 2 days in drive..

Now I could just buy a new battery and hope thats the issue...???
I think it might be the original battery in the car ..
or..Could something be draining the battery?
and if so how would I check?
    Opinions?

Well I got the car 5 yers and havent changed it... not too sure how old it is..but as its a genuine Alfa battery I suspect it could be an original..

If I change battery and it's a battery drain issue am I not just wasting money?

Your local motor factor will load test it for you, as it's 03 i'd say it needs replacing.

The average life of a normal batter is about 3 years and 5 years for a calcium battery. I'd test it first with a multimeter to make sure but I'm fairly confident that the battery is your problem :)

Replaced the original Alfa battery in my 156 after 8 years. If it's an Alfa battery then it's almost definitely had it's day.
