tripod socket help

    plactic tripod head snapped inside nikon d5100 and i cannot unscrew it is there any way to replace the tripod socket thanks

    There are probably a few different ways of getting the remnants of the tripod bolt out of the tripod socket without too much difficulty. I'd probably drill a hole or maybe a couple of holes and get some small metal posts glued in there that I could use to screw it out, or melt a screwdriver head into it or something. Replacing the entire tripod socket seems like overkill ...

    You only get what you pay for I suppose!
    You can pick up good tripods for small money these days.

    Curious to see what type of tripod it is though if the OP
    can post a model type or picture?
