In the next week or two I plan to buy a Steinhart Vintage red. While doing my usual searches that I do to find others opinions etc I came across this pic,

I have not asked for permission to use this pic, which I know is bad form, however I have not rehosted it, so if for some reason the author is not happy he can take it down.

I think this strap looks really great on this watch and would like to have it myself. IN his thread he says it cam free from Steinhart, but they are not listing the strap on their site. I found a seller on ebay selling this

That is the same strap right?

Looks like a pretty standard nylon "NATO" type strap alright NL. For me buying these straps I just look at price, as over the years I've paid all sorts of prices and found no real difference in quality(leather ones can vary a lot mind you). Though stainless steel buckles and keepers an advantage.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

I picked up a leather NATO for my G10 from sectime and it's pretty good quality. They also do the regular NATO's as well.

I'm more talking about the colour, I think the original pic has a nice bronze look to it that really goes nicely with the watch, I'm not sure if the one I have found is the same

This is mine on a Bond Skunk NATO, I also got a Free green on from Steinhart with also went well with it

    Since it's a Submariner 1680 homage
I'd say go with a bond NATO.

Any of you got a wrist shot of a ocean 44 on a nato?

I appreciate the suggestions, but I'm not looking for ideas, I know which strap I want, I just can't find it :(

When I bought mine, it came with an Olive Nato free

It wasnt on the website or advertised as such... just arrived in the box

Mine too, I think they all do from what I can gather, but I guess Nolimits is keen on that Nato colour. I've seen a few Natos advertised as 'Chestnut' which is how I might have described the one in the photo up there, but they look nothing like that in the photos.

Ok, so looking at it again, I agree there is more of a bronze to it. I think the way the light happens to be in these photos can vary the colour a lot.

The closest I can find to that colour is from Maratac, the Desert Tan.

I think that the Nato colour in the second photo of the OP just looks very like the olive green strap that comes with the OVR

I think this is one on a Doxa -in very bright light (Again ..ahem borrowed the photo...)

Thank you very much, unfortunately that site doesn't ship internationally but I think you have put me on the right track.

    Sincerely thanks again.

Just to demonstrate how averse I am to actually working this week, I was following your other thread at WUS and followed one of the suggested links to find this one.

It's more brown than bronze, but still looks good and pretty cheap and more likely to ship to Ireland. Unfortunately out of stock in 22mm at the moment.

Thanks for that, I've just ordered one in 20mm and I'll let you know how I get on. I would have preferred brushed steel furniture but for £3.29 posted I don't believe that I have much to complain about.

I'd seen that one as well I have the page bookmarked and the watch is on order, I'll see what if any nato I get with the watch and will take it from there.

I think the strap in the op looks perfect, but the more I look around I think it's just how the light was catching it, ah well.

I've just received mine and you'll need a good sized wrist or otherwise you'll need to burn some new holes in it. There's about an half inch of slack on mine with it fastened to the smallest hole, if you know what I mean. It's a bit difficult to take a picture of without three hands.

Photo comparison with a Timefactors grey NATO. You can see the size difference clearly.
