Well folks it's 2012 and the Olympics will be this summer. We've 3 people qualified from the 92 places alloted through the World Championships and will see how many more will qualify from the 140 places available through the continental qualifying event (78 of which are alloted for Europe).

The below explains alot of the above.

    http://www.eok.ee/sites/default/files/London%202012/AIBA%20-%20Boxing.pdf

Below are the three already qualified (taken from iaba.ie)

51Kg (Flyweight) Michael Conlan (St John Bosco)
56Kg (Bantamweight) John Joe Nevin (Cavan BC)
    75Kg (Middleweight) Darren O'Neill (Paulstown)

    Anyway, my questions are......

    1) Do we know which boxers will be going to the Qualifier in Istanbul as some big names....Ward, Egan, Barns, Moylette etc missing?

    2) Where will the best overall coverage of the boxing (not just the Irish hopefuls be available, will it be Eurosport? Also assume it will all be streamed somewhere, if so where?

    3) What do people reckon about our medal prospects?
