    Got a new tvin Currys rhe other day which says I get freeview hd channels such as bbchd, itvhd etc. Is it possible to get that here in Ireland or is it just for people in the uk?

    I have a sky+ box if that makes any difference and if I can get it how do I go about tuning in the hd channels?

    Freeview is the UK equivalent of Saorview i.e. digital terresterial via an aerial.
    Only available if you are within range of a UK transmitter located in NI or Wales.

    Freesat is the free satellite option for everyone else.

    Freeview HD is Terrestrial Digital Through an Aerial Its Nothing to do with your sky box so if you could not get BBC or utv on an aerial Before you wont get Freeview

    you might get saorview connect it to an outdoor tv aerial to find out

    You certainly wont get it in Munster, Munster Magic. It will receive the Saorview Channels alright on the DTV Digital tuner that is built in. It may stick them in the 800s, but you can rename the 800 channels as 1, 2 etc using the Logical Channel Numbering option on one of the menus.
