I've really gotten to love American Football over the last few years and I'd like to see the Super Bowl realtime this year. I'll be in the states for 3 weeks during the build-up, flying back to Ireland on Feb 4th, just in time to catch the event here.

Any locations already announcing their Super Bowl plans?

Can't imagine anywhere has anything set in stone yet!

Woolshed on Parnell St is usually great for it, need to get in early cause it gets packed!

Woolshed is the Aussie one right? If so I'd highly recommend it, great atmosphere whenever I go for Southern hemisphere rugby.

I'll just be staying at home to watch it.

Yup...that's the one...beside the cinema for anybody wondering!

You can also buy tickets for the woolshed to sit in the bleachers, did this last year with about 11 or 12 friends and it was great. Everyone able to see the game and still have really good craic.

The Dublin Rebels will also be having a party again. It's been in Dandelion for the last couple of years.

A pretty good event i think bar the pricey platters of food.

How good is it exactly? How does it compare to the woolshed?

Honestly i'm not sure, I've yet to be to the Woolshed.
Its well organised, dancing cheerleaders etc ;).

As said the platters are pricey and non standard.
The last 2 years myself and 3 mates got 1 platter (€40) we inhaled it as there wasnt much to it, we got another one and it was the same price but 3 times the size!
    Entry was free though.

You go downstairs to watch the game and tbh it can be a bit of a lottery about the view you get.
Last year we were standing for the game, but as it gets packed you have people behind asking you to move if they have seats etc.. but there isnt a whole lot of other places to move!

I think if they opened upstairs and downstairs it would be ideal.

Apart from the dancing cheerleaders it doesn't sound as if it compares to the woolshed. Think I will be buying more tickets for the bleachers there.

So it looks like the Woolshed and Sinnott's are the top locations so far. Thanks everyone

looks like the Superbowl is on at 10.15pm this year which is great.

Not seeing any links on the woolshed site for bleachers tickets....do I need to be invited?

Was at this last year, have to say it was a great night, agree about the viewing being a bit awkward, we sort of just made the best of it and had a good nite.
Would defo go if on again this year:D

I always had the impression the woolshed is full of bandwagoners? Like Champions League Final you get allsorts of characters in the pubs.

Rather watch at home with a few friends that actually like the game.

I was looking for decent spots to watch it this year..(I watched it in The Portabello which was great but jam packed with mostly drunk non American Football fans, but still a decent atmosphere).. and it looks like the RDS are gonna go a huge screen with grub and beer deals.. for a Price.. Check out the facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Official-Irish-Super-Bowl-Party-2012/172431632847868

Just checked and there might be a change of venue.. keep checkin that page!!!

That looks pretty dodgy to be honest "we have a big announcement coming soon are you as excited as us"

I might be if you had any actual information. Also "official" super bowl party. What does that mean is it associated with the NFL? If not how is it official.

Also I hate when these things are put up only on facebook, what's wrong with having your own website, why do they need to use facebook. OK rant over but I think I'll be sticking to the woodshed or maybe just stay at home. [/RANT]

Originally from the sates living in Dublin 5 years now and went to the Woolshed every year for the Super Bowl. Good time great atmosphere but you have to show up early. Last year I went to Peadar Kearney's which did an open bar for 50 euro. Was there last night for some drinks and they said the were doing the same again this year. Last year was the most fun I have had for the super bowl out of the states. It's worth looking into if you think you are going to drink more the 8 drinks:D.

    found a link... http://nfldublin.weebly.com/super-bowl-2012.html
I think they have the wrong date though. The 6th was last year. thuis year it's on the 5th.

Expect it to be on Channel 4, BBC & TV3 if last year is anything to go by.

The Arlington Dame Street will be showing and serving until the last play. Only Super Bowl bash thrown by actual Americans. On the big screen on the stage and on the flat screens all around- no sight line issues.

Don't you need an American Citizen to buy you a ticket?

Capitol has a late licence, which covers serving until 2.30am (I think... not sure how licences work on Sundays). I don't know for certain if this will be extended for the Superbowl... it's possible... either way, the game usually finishes at around 3-3.15. With last orders at 2.30, you'll only need a pint or three to tide you by until the final whistle. I can't see anyone sitting there on the dry.

They can still serve till half 2 on sundays. Somebody should organise a Party in a hotel with cheap rooms, Residents Bar all night!!!

Yeah, and probably one who isn't a fan of Mitt Romney

If you buy a ticket for the Rebels SB party, you can arrive whenever you want and you'll get in!

Use this link to purchase a ticket - http://www.eventelephant.com/dublinr...owl-party-2012

... make sure to enter 'Andy Dennehy' in the field marked 'Which Dublin Rebels player referred you?'

It certainly wasn't a rip off . Big head on me today. Any drink you wanted was given plus lots of food. Great night apart from the result.
