I was a big fan of the Super Nintendo during my childhood, and with a bit of money after Christmas I’d like to buy one again along with a few games. Are they still for sale though, even in any second hand shops?

Wii does offer a great selection of titles for download, link to SNES titles: (Each are 800 Wii Points, the equivalent of 8 euro)

if you aren't "too" fussed on the original hardware! They're all emulated perfectly and all :)
There's a "Classic Controller" available which is quite similar to the old SNES control pad or i think you can get SNES controllers/adaptors online which will plug into the wii :)

Also going this way would have the benefit of having access to old NES, N64, Sega titles for download...plus newer Wii games (+Gamecube titles depending on which model Wii)

Nostalgia is a great thing, but sometimes the newer option may be a better deal! :pac:

Very valid points, but to the OP, these games were not designed for 16:9 flatscreen tv's...& will likely look very different to how you remember them.

If you are looking for a genuine throwback, you'll have to pick yourself up a crt tv too, these era games were designed to run on them & look so much better.
