only 28 players playing in america no surprise with kaymer mcilroy and donald not playing but with simpson , watney and stricker there it will be interesting. Bubba shot a 58 in practice and i know there is alot of kj fans on here. but this course is ridiculous stricker hit a 420 yard drive last year fairways wide and downhil on most so the studying starts for friday

The Plantation Course will likely play quite difficult for the rest of this week.

Driving rain and gusty winds are forecast changing this course completely.

One player who excels in windy conditions is Sean O'Hair. Very surprised to see him priced up at 25/1. Bookies off the ball with this one.

First, just want to wish everyone a happy 2012 and hopefully 2012 proves to a fruitful year for everyone here :)

2 bets for me this week and both in the US -

    Nick Watney @ 10/1 (Ladbrokes)

Besides being a potential Major winner in the very near future I believe, the guy loves Bermuda greens and has done well at Kapula in the past.

    Martin Laird @ 20/1 (Bet 365)

I expect Laird to push on once again this year. Another player who loves Bermuda greens.

So yup, no Webb for me this week  :pac:

No current form to go on so for me its €20 ew Bubba 16s €15 ewSabattini 25s €7.50 ew Vegas 40s.Kingston @almost evens(20 to 21) Boyles looks a great bet to beat Fichart (missed the cut here for the past 2 years) in Africa.Happy punting at least it takes longer to lose money on the golf than on the horses,my little joke.

I backed Woodland @ 18/1, he can hit the ball long and the wide fairways should help him. Only problem is that everyone is talking about him so he'll probably finish last :(

    Think Byrd could defend.
Ogilvy and Appleby have both done so in the past 6 or so years.
It is that kind of course.

    Think he's 22/1 with PP

Hope it works out! I've a 5er each way!

Backed Keegan Bradley as usual, got some nice returns off him this year. 16/1 €5.50 e/w to get rid of the odd €11 in my account :P

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

    Damn Webby :D

Watched the the last hour and a bit of coverage in the early hours, Byrd was striking the ball beautifully, and his putts were rolling in and at the perfect pace. He's got his eye in again on this course. Only 1 round played of course, but he's gonna be very hard to beat if he keeps that up despite some other very good scores posted.

see that drive on 12 went miles left and made birdie from 11 ft driver is all over place. stricker always has 1 bad round simpson throws an odd one in but woodland just seems rusty to me

No I missed his drive, I'm waiting it online and they don't seem to be showing him at all, so looking him up on shot tracker.....what about Chris Kirk  Running up the leaderboard

Could I get the link you are watching please?

I'd love to know if Byrd is missing birdie chances, playing steady or scrambling every hole!

Well it wasn't really some round...but it was a good finish. (EDIT - you meant the second round. Yep it was brilliant)

I backed Byrd pre tournament and I went to sleep after he bogeyed the 2nd and 3rd holes. At that point he dropped back to -6. I woke up some time later and did a quick check. Unbelievably he was -13 and Stricker was still -15. I couldn't believe it.

Of course then I started watching and Byrd missed a 3 footer for birdie and didn't birdie the par 5. Stricker birdied, then chipped in and well...went 5 shots ahead.

He's generally a good leader but I think he'll end up only winning by 1 or 2. Simpson will chase him home, so to speak.

WTF charl 10/3 withh pp and 7/2 with boyles next week i know he won it 2 years in row but still even stricker was 5/1 to win 3rd john dere

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,200 ✭✭✭jjll

going to bang in on jonathan byrd +3 shots with pp v stricker at 4/5 looks easy money byrd is -3 already and stricker 1 over

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,200 ✭✭✭jjll

Good shout, did anyone else see stricker blatantly look through byrds bag on the 8th tee to see what club he was hitting,i know its not cheating just dont like it

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,200 ✭✭✭jjll

well only 5 shot lead now both should birdie 9 so will byrd lose it on back nine as i can see stricker defend afetr this and birdie 15 and 18 par 5s stricker always seems to have one dodgy round a tourny and this is it memba last round john dere he had to pull it out there with that birdie on 18

Just started watching now. T2nd is Laird, probably asking too much though..

stricker is playing well but dont know if i can do him next week 9/1

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

Game over. Laird gave me a good run at least. Normally start of slowly in the golf betting till the summer rears around, so this was a good start all things considered.
