Hey guys, I have a macbook that is about 4 years old. I use it to connect to a projector via s-video. I have a connector for it that goes from (what I think is called) the "Mini VGA" to an s-video cable. However it is now broken as its only showing black and white, if I play with the cable it sometimes comes back to colour but it takes ages so i just need a new one. Thing is I just cannot find one. I can only seem to find the ones with Mini DVI for some reason

This is what it looks like:

Anyone know where I can get one online?
    Thanks

Welcome to the wonderful world of Mac video connectors!
    You are looking for a M9319G (mini-DVI to S-video).

I might have one of those around somewhere. If you give mea day or two, and I'll have a look. If I find it, you can have it.

That's a pretty low quality signal in relative terms. Does your projector have other inputs that might give better quality ? Perhaps the model number may help us recommend a better connection type ?

Most projectors I've come across at least offer a 15 pin SVGA connector. A better quality signal and higher resolution to boot ! :)

Brilliant thanks guys! Whiterebel that would be fantastic, thanks a mil.

Zener yeah I know its not great but my projector is fairly low quality anyway (640x480) all I use it for is movies etc and its fine for that really.

Still bugs the hell out of me that Macs cannot just have all the normal connections like a pc laptop - you have to go and buy pricy adaptors for everything grrrr!
