I was wondering if it would be possible to bring the box over here and use it with my current dishes, one of which isn't being used at the moment. I have an address in England where I could have it registered to.

    Aww... :(

Is there any other satellite providers in the UK? Apart from Sky of course.

I know about that, im just looking for a way to cut the Sky bill and hopefully get the new F1 channel that's coming in March.

The new F1 channel IS a Sky channel. The only way to get it is to pay Sky.

Nope. Up to SKY to release them to UPC. Most notable missing SKY channels are the HD ones, sky 1 hd, sports hd, etc...

So if SKY want to keep F1 channel they can but they may be pressured to eventually release it

Also up to UPC if they think it's worth paying for them.

Don't want to pay for UPC as I'd like to go to them as a new customer when they provide broadband in Ennis.

The Mod wasnt having a go at you about your Virgin Box (just wont work over here as Virgin dont service Ireland). It was a warning about other boxes and methods being dropped in here that are illegal.

Besides the FTA channels on Astra 19.2 (the German Channels) 50% of F1 will be live and free on the BBC.

Not all the races are exclusively Live to Sky either.
The BBC says it will show half of next year’s races live, plus delayed highlights of the remaining races.

The highlights programmes will last around 90 minutes and usually be shown around 2pm for early morning races, 5:30pm for European time zone races.

The first two races of 2012 will only be shown live on Sky, who also claimed exclusive live rights to the Canadian and Italian Grands Prix. BBC will show the final race of the season live, but did not pick up live rights to the United States Grand Prix, which is under threat of cancellation.

List of what the BBC are showing LIVE.

    15 April: China
    13 May: Spain
    27 May: Monaco
    24 June: Europe
    8 July: Britain
    2 September: Belgium
    23 September: Singapore
    14 October: Korea
    4 November: Abu Dhabi
    25 November: Brazil

I'm mad about F1, haven't missed a race in three years. :) Need to have 100% of all races on time ;) I suppose I'll just pay to get the extra sky channels or watch on RTL.
