Hi, I was wondering if someone can help me. I have a piece of specialised equipment I would like to sell on ebay UK as there is little market here for such.
In order to advertise it I want it ready to ship with a quote as Im sure it will sell. I believe it can cost upto 300 euros to ship a package from Ireland to the Uk where the other way I can get quotes for around 90 stg
Unfortuantely it is about 50kg packed although it can be split into 2 boxes of 45kg and say 10kg.
Dimensions are 100x70x60 if in one box or say 80x 70x60 if in 2 boxes.
What are my options?Should I buy a half or quarter pallet and some wrap or cardboard boxes somewhere?
Anyone who could help me pack it I would be very grateful and could obviously pay for the service. I dont have access to pallet wrap or strap guns and dont want to spend too much time on that end of things. Im in South West Dublin and could drive with the item if I can fit a half pallet say in hatchback. Thanks for any help

If you are shipping to 'Britain' then how about DHL? or Hales freight maybe?

A little while ago Transland were all over the radio advertising pallet shipping.

I just went there and typed in a 50 KG pallet from Dublin to Chester, Uk in two weeks and they quoted 37 euro + VAT.

I am not recommending them but its something that may do the business for you. You can play with dates and get quotes here.

Transland or tpn.ie will do the job for €50+ as mentioned above.

Thanks guys, cool, so what I need to do now is purchase say a half pallet and have it packed onto it. Anyone help me with that, be very glad to pay if anyone has the pallet and pallet wrap or I could buy a pallet somewhere and someone could wrap it. I can of course box the items. Willing to drive anywhere within reason of Dublin if someone can assist. Thanks

Its no trouble picking up a pallet. You may have more trouble finding someone to share a pallet with you.

How do you plan to share a pallet? It would have to be going to the same place as your "partner" and for the sake of 50 euro, why go to the hassle.

You misunderstand, I dont want to share a pallet or save cost, but they sell pallets, half pallets and quarter pallets, and I assumed that I could fit a half palate in my car whereas would struggle to fit a full one in. I would like someone to pack my box onto a pallet and then drive home with it and then it will await pickup from home. Thanks

A suggestion, say you go with transland or another.

Could you maybe drop the boxes to their depot? Their phone number 045 837.... suggests NAAS area. Maybe you could drop the boxes onto their pallet and they could wrap it. It would be easier for them if you brought it to their depot - they would save cash in not needing to collect it !

    Worth a try maybe ?

I used transland a while back and was delighted with their service. The whole shipment cost me around 850 euro instead of the 1950 my Supplier could get it for!
