Laptop shutdown while copying

I was copying about 2259 mame roms from my laptop to my Android phone. Suddenly the laptop just powered off in the middle of it (I think the laptop got too hot). I'm just wondering will some of the files be corrupted? Basically what happens if you're copying loads of files from one destination to another and the computer dies in the middle of it? It looks as if some files did get copied across successfully but how will I know if any are messed up? Could some be damaged?

Its possible that some files may be corrupt alrite, make sure the laptop is being used on a flat surface where no air vents are being blocked.
I would mount the Android SD card, delete the more recent ROMs (sort by "Date Created" or "Date Modifed") and re-transfer them just in case. The original copies on the computer will be fine, if you only choose to "copy" and not "move" them over

If using windows then partial transfers are usually dropped

If using linus then partial transfers are usually kept

not sure how android would manage

if just copying to android as USB drive using windows then probably OK

could also be power saving timeouts if it was taking ages
