Been offered an iphone 4 at a cut down price because its potentially/possibly/probably faulty.

The problem with it is it only powers on when plugged into a computer & also while trying to restore its giving a 1611 Error.
The error part is fixable (i think, from some searching online) but im just wondering about the only powering on while plugged into a computer bit,is this fixable?
Anyone have any idea whats going on here? If its a hardware issue & parts are required etc, ball park figure as to what it might cost?

At a guess I would say its the battery,it will not hold a charge it happened to me a few years back on a 2 g iPhone.as they say with these things if it's too good ti be true it usually is there are lots of shops around that will do a repair for 100€ ish that's if it is the battery! if not then the sky is the limit for the cost good luck hope it works out And happy new year!!!!!!!!!

Sounds like water damage, I'd leave it if I were you, 1611 is showing a hardware fault and I'd bet the logic board is fried just below the sim area where the battery plugs in
