    Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone knows how I'd go about claiming US tax back. I was working there for a few months in the summer. I'm a US citizen legally due to my mother, so can I even claim it back?

And also, I started a new job here in Ireland in September, can I claim the unused years worth of credits (January-August) back or what's the story with that?

Sorry if I'm being thick, but Tax was never my strong point!! :o:o

From reading your post, it seems you'd be tax resident in Ireland, and therefore taxable here on your Worldwide income.

You will need to advise Revenue of your US income and tax deducted.

They will apply the Irish rate of tax and give you a credit for any US tax deducted.

If you've overpaid tax, you will get a refund.
