New channel has started in Atlantic Bird 12.5°W > TV 3e Ireland on 11161 V 5632 3/4 Free To Air

can't check this myself as motor is slightly off.

strange bird to be testing on.

Wonder would that have anything to do with 3e going off Sky and some cablecos some nights ago?

    Maybe an emergency uplink feed?

It could be for feeding UPC cable heads.
Did RTE uplink them to 28E?

It's no use as an uplink for Sky unless someone with the Sky uplink for 28E for the transponder 3E is on is receiving it. So maybe it's temporary replacement for a lost feed to whoever does the Sky Uplink.

All the channels in one transponder have to be in the same uplink, on the same satellite.

Fairly strong signal with me. The feedhunter sites have been reporting it for the last couple of weeks also on another tp on 12.5 W and on 10 E.

As C6 it was uploaded in Cryptowerks to one of the atlantic sats for cable feed in the past.

Not with new birds. In-air multiplexing exists where channels can be uploaded on multiple frequencies and muxed for one transponder.

Yes, partially true. But it still has to be the same satellite. Your uplink has to point at 28.2E or 28.5E.

Also they only have limited on board multiplexing and you pay extra. I agree 3e could in theory be on a "different" uplink "transponder". But hardly likely. In any case any signal on a different satellite is only of use to a Cable head end or teleport doing uplink to 28.2E. Which is the meat of what I was saying.

3e had a problem with the link to the BT Tower uplink which caused them to go off air on Sky Digital CH105.

3e was available on Saorview at the time.
RTE1, RTE2, TV3 and TG4 were all available on Sky while 3e was off.

Cable heads and Teleports / uplinks have bigger receive dishes than Mortals.
