Hi all, going into town tonight to hear the christchurch bells. Anyone know any stories ghostly or not connected to the bells?
    Cheers.

I don't know about the cathedral's bells and the cathedral itself, but, apparently, back in the 17th and 18th century, there was a stretch dubbed 'Hell', encompassing the side of the hill from Christchurch to St. Audeon's. On the southern end, on Fishamble Street, there's now a pub named 'Darkey Kellys'. It's named after an infamous 'madame'/lady of the night, who ran a place in that same building named 'The Maiden Tower'.

The premises were raided one night by the police and Darkey Kelly was executed for the alleged murder of her child. Her prosecutor, Simon Luttrell, was not only the Sheriff of Dublin, but an alleged Hellfire Club member and reportedly the father of the deceased child as well.

There's more about Christchurch and that specific area here: http://frg.ie/fountain-news-september-october-2011/johns-lane-christchurch-winetavern-street/

    Nice little map here. :)71christchurch.th.png
