Great account of the lengths Ailis McSweeney is prepared to go to to get to London 2012:

    Not for the squeamish.
An hour and a half later the new leg was made. The only real bad moment during the surgery, which was under local anaesthetic, was when I glanced back to see the chisel being unpacked pre bone hacking. When Håkan saw the amount of work to be done he asked was I very stubborn. I was about to say no when I remembered some training sessions during the summer. There were days when I would do a run and then have a little panicky cry with the pain before walking back to go again. So foolish.
