Im looking for some info on this if its possible.
Paddy has a goverment pension of roughly €1300 per month (was a state employee), has declared himself bankcrupt so he has no bank account so his pension goes into his sisters account. Paddy is moving to the far side of the world for good soon and wants this arrangement to continue where is check goes into his sisters account and she will transfer it to him monthly through Western Union. My question is, would the sister be liable as regards any tax irregularities from revenue?
    Thanks

    Hi,
Sounds like plenty of issues there. The first the sister would need to keep a record (& evidence such as WU payment slips) of payments received & paid to paddy otherwise it will look like income in her hands and she would be taxed. If it came up during a revenue audit there could be fines & penalties as well if she lost her case.
Paddy would also have to make sure that he was not avoiding his payment to his creditors by moving abroad & putting his pension into his sister bank account and that he continued to full fill his obligations under his bankrupcy.

Anyway that his my two cents worth & like everything Paddy should talk and pay for professional advice before making any decision or taking any course of action.
