Its New year's eve again, and the "LIVE-ISH" TV choice is better than ever this year, so what draws your fancy? Will you be watching the annual Hootenanny with Jools Holland and his musical guests on BBC2, or will you give Miriam O'Callaghan & guests a try on RTE1? and if thats not your cuppa there's always the massive annual fireworks display live from London on BBC1 (must be listened to loud), or what about the news countdown to 2012 on ITV1 (followed by review of ther year)? or how about Sky news? who usually relay Big Ben & the fireworks Live from London's South bank? and finally we have the Dubliners 'Live' from Vicar Street on TG4.

Tempted by any of the above? or might you be watching one of the many other channels who are showing films & documentaries on New year's eve. Timecop will be/was on TV3, while CHN4 is ahowing Rude Tube: Epic Christmas, Vintage (Music TV) has the New years Party, while Bliss is showing "Take That and Party It's 2012", and there's so many more channels too . . . . . . . . .

Enjoy, its just a bit of fun :)

I hate New Years telly in general, so I'll just watch some old reruns on GOLD or something I think. I might check and see who's on Jools and give it a look.

It easier to say that I will be watching anything but RTE to begin with.
    I'd rather watch paint dry!

Jools 'Hootenanny' is great as usual :D

Cyndi Lauper still as mad as a box of frogs (in a nice way), great show by all tonight, switching over to the Fireworks on BBC1 at midnight.

Jools is the only thing worth watching in fairness, nothing but sh1te on the other channels.

Hootenanny. Although it was filmed so long ago, I'm surprised Amy Winehouse hasn't made an appearance. I flicked over to the RTE thing a few times... Jedward, Brendan Grace, Brendan O'Carroll, Brendan Bowyer, Crystal Swing, Red Hurley. Bleak.

Who dat jules, huh? Watchew sayin' hey?

Good to see that the Dubliners recorded their show before St. Patrick got here, original pagan Celtic music, although OOF players are rare these days. (OOF = Ogham On Flagstone)

Yet again RTE was truly awful this New year's Eve.

Watched BBC1 for the countdown and fireworks and BBC2 after. Wouldn't subject myself to the tripe that was RTE's self indulgent excuse for a NYE show.
