    Hi All,

I have an Opel Astra 1.7dti with an Isuzu engine which died the other day. I removed the head to find that two cylinders were badly damaged from rings breaking up @ only 140k.. and yes there was oil in it!
Can I stick another one from a scrap yard straight in without ECU syncing trouble? All thoughts and experiences appreciated!!

If you get an identical engine model(check your code) then the electronics will be fine as you would normally fit all the auxiliary parts to the replacment engine.
