Dit event managment

Hi all. Hope you can help me. I'm thinking of doing event management in dit as a mature student. I realise I'll have to do the mature student applied course but I'm wondering about the course itself.
Is this a more female dominated area due to wedding planning? I was hoping to focus on music concerts etc.
Can anyone who done this course tell me what it was like and is it worth doing as it may be a hard area to get into?

Event management seem a pretty good bunch. The emphasis is more on things like concerts, world cups etc.

Ah that's grand. Didn't really want to be the only guy in an all girl class. Do you know is it hard to get into? I'll be a mature student though my background is not anything in this area.

I only know that it is considered more prestigious than leisure management.

You could try having a word with one of students or lecturers on the course.
