Hey all, I'm in the middle of a sound engineering course and I'm just wondering what you all recommend is regards trying to get a job interning in a studio afterwards? Should I email cvs/ give them a call/ drop in or a mixture of the above? I've been out of work since June so am nearing the end of any cash I had saved. Even a day or so a week now would be great as I'm only in college Monday and Fridays.
    Any advice would be great.
    Thanks

Forgot to add that I've done a few live gigs, with the biggest audience at around 350 people. Any venues out there looking for a trainee/assistant?

Engineering work is difficult to come by unless you're in a position to run your own rig with transport etc. Even then it's not a lucrative market outside of the Wedding & Corporate sector which is more or less sewn up already.

Tough times indeed, but those with the determination will graft it out whereas those with a passing interest will just move onto something else eventually.

Yeah, I've got work experience in a venue sorted but I'd like to try and get something for myself before the college year is up.
Could the Mods actually move this thread into the main Music Production forum please.

Perhaps approach one of the larger sound hire companies and offer to work for free for a few weeks in the hope they'll take you on? Worked for a friend of mine.

I wouldn't be hopefully of paid work with limited experience.

sorry for not being helpful, but I'd be seriously rich if every internship attempt that I receive was a client query.
