hey lads looking for a 17.1" lcd screen for a HP Compaq Preccario (not sure about the preccario part :D) as mine is fooked and I really like the current software setup on it and dont want the hassle of having to go about reinstalling it on a new machine. Iam also lloking for second hand screen as I was quoted €230 for a new one and I paid less then double that for the unit new so have no intention of paying that if anyone can help that would be good but would also settle for a laptop short of a hardrive

I don't have a recommendation for replacing the screen but if you just want to use the computer, buy a second hand external screen for €30-50 to tide you over. Hey presto, turns your laptop into a desktop! I have 2 laptops that are 6-7 years old, both screens fooked but they work perfect apart from that and i'm not spending a few hundred on replacing the screens when I can buy a new laptop for not much more.
