It's a phone app that lets you run against others giving you feedback at each split as audio updates. It's very rudimentary at the moment but once the masters is done and dusted I will iron out the kinks!

It doesn't really rule you out, you mightn't use it, or like to use it but you can see the point of it. I didn't want to restrict it to people who use headphones and used phone apps, that would skew the results in my favour.

I sometimes use "runkeeper", this does give audio updates on pace / time etc and I personally find it an excellent help (back of the pack runner/jogger).

Are you going to give any feedback on the results. Would be interested to hear responses to the 'losing focus' question. As in, when I started to run, I couldn't lose focus despite trying so hard not to think about every step. However now I can decide to focus on a run itself or on other general-life things that I don't otherwise have a chance to think about. (I know that's not the point of your survey or masters - I'm just on a tangent!!) :rolleyes:

Doesn't Nike + annouce your pace ? Garmin watch that you can set your thresholds is best and it beeps if you break them. Only want to know if I am outside it rather than tell me that I within the limits if that makes sence.
