ince I finally have access to a retail PS VITA, today I started with some basic tests.

After a complete freeze of the system within the first 5 minutes after unboxing (*always happens to new consoles 4 me rofl*), I went on and noticed that there is a problem with the VITA's encryption functions and was able to decrypt some test files directly via the system.

I will post updates as soon as I have new

There's also the HBL port of the PSP exploit, which runs on the Vita in PSP User mode:
Yes, I’m running an emulator inside a hacked emulator on the Vita, that’s kind of cool. There’s lots to say about this ongoing work, but first let me state that, for once, this HBL port is entirely my work, except for the underlying PSP exploit which is initially from Teck4. I’ve been testing other people’s work for a while, so it was about time I got back to coding myself.

While User mode in sandboxed, I don't feel its ever entirely safe. OtherOS was User mode too remember ;)

I will buy it for the exploit because in the long run I will be making my money back.

I'm sure it'll be fine once they lower the price to non-ridiculous levels for both the unit & the memory cards. Sony has a massive battle on its hands with smartphones too, whereas at least the 3DS has a selling point [3D]

I'm sure Vita is a cracking piece of kit, & when the big name games start flooding out it'll be the handheld of choice, it's just far too expensive given todays climate.

£280 Sterling on Amazon, with no game or memory card. £360 for a Vita, Uncharted & a 16GB card if you want the goodies.

£229.99 for the wifi only and in either case the Irish price is cheaper  at €249.99 and €299.99.

If you wanted the 3g getting it from Vodafone may end up cheaper.

Beggars belief that the Irish price is cheaper, but still, €250 for a handheld with no games or memory is a problem.

Do you mean no games included and no games released, and it is possible for some game to use their own card storage for saves or Dlc.

No games included. I should hope they do allow for their own saves also, it's the least people should expect of a cartridge/card :)

It would seem to be the logical choice, though as you know us Europeans arn't getting the 32GB card, so that'll have to be imported

Will probably buy the vita here so i have a bit of come back, and i'll be working away soon or someone else may be.

It may be just a production issue and by release we could have em.
