I am thinking of investing in a pair of cycling shoes (in the sales!) And was wondering about what pedals you need and where can you get them cheap?
would like a decent pair to last a while but not willing to break the wallet either.
    Does anyone have any advice?...

I got a set of shimano pedals on chainreactioncycles.com for about 40 as far as I can remember.

What type of bike do you have and what sort of cycling will you typically be doing? Combinations of Road/MTB/Hybrid for the bike and Racing/Touring/Commuting will give you different recommendations. N.B. that different pedals will restrict you to one range of shoes, to some degree.

Me, I've got a road bike with SPDs as most of my cycling is commuting with some (not enough) weekend stuff.
