Can the front sight be removed from a g&g raider short version without having any affect on the rails or hand guard...? Also can it be fully removed or does it have to be cut off...? Anybody out their have experience doing this...?

good point, but for the OP's convenience: It depends on what you mean can it be removed. as far as I'm aware the actual front sight can't be removed EDIT: can be removed sorry DeBurca :P but you can remove the front sight by taking the front half of the outer barrel with it. by any chance is this in relation to you trying to mount a red dot sight?
many people try to remove it without realising that a RDS should be adjusted to sit on the front sight.

been part of one of DeBurca's here :D id have to say the issue with the front sight is that it pretty much renders low profile RDS useless. you can remove it but the pins are covered with a thick coat of paint and im almost certain the barrel part where the post resides is not painted. So removing it even if you are the most patient and careful person in the world it will end up in fugly looking barrel even if you manage not to scratch the rest of it. my suggestion would be getting a rail riser. these 2 will do the job : "high" and "low". The dif between them is 0.2 inch or 0.5cm. I currently have the low version and i ordered the high one. For me the difference while small it makes sense due to the type of mesh mask im using.

    hope this was helpful .

Thanks a million lads but still having some trouble, have taken off the part of the outter barrell that the front sight is a part of and the front sight doesnt seem to seperate from the piece of barrell it to me looks like its all one piece and that I'm going to have to either cut the top part off the sight off or else get a piece of the barrell that has no front sight on it...!! I personally just dont like front sights, Also in relation the the posts I'm stuck between an acog and an eotech...?

yeah i always thought the pins in that sight didnt come out on a raider but i thought deburca's links were all regarding a raider.

There are allen screws on the handguard , screw them out , pull off the hanguard and unscrew all the nub screws holding it on.
