The car only has a key so it's not some fob issue.
Been acting up a while and I thought I'd have a go at this today.
Issue is that the central locking locks the car automatically all the time since a few weeks or so.
Once it locks it cannot be opened with the drivers inside lock, the passenger side can be unlock from the inside.

Changed to a fresh battery and that didn't help.
Read somewhere this would be a classic Micra issue and could be something to do with a boot switch?

My daughter has roughly the same issue with her car, on a cold day the central locking will not unlock the 2 front doors. But its funny watching her get in the back and climb over the seats :-) , we never really got to the bottom of the locking issue just put it down to the cold effecting the locking soliniods.

Did she not try using the key in the lock?

Yes but the central locking clicked back in.
