Definitely worth it, if not only for the $500 Virus-Free Guarantee.

Comodo Internet Security is solid. I've never experienced GeekBuddy however.

    I don't normally.

If anyone still wants to buy it go to:

    https://www.comodo.com/home/internet-security/free-internet-security.php

Click download and then clicking buy now on the next page gets the cheap offer.

However if mad m's method gets it and is legit i see no real reason in buying it...

    Try AVG

    Independent Anti-Virus Testing Lab.

If you have no common sense then install all these....

    Firefox
    WOT
    Adblock
    No script
    Malwarebytes
    Comodo Firewall

    MSE OR Avast OR Avira

...if you have abit of cop on then you don't need all of them.

It is nice to have one of the top paid ones though. They're like a warm blanket.

The 'comparison sites' are all sponsored by one or other Antivirus manufacturer and will inevitably slant their 'unbiased report' in favour of that particular product. I've yet to see a truly /completely unbiased site / report.
The only way to really protect yourself is to have and use a bit of savvy in your internet habits. Going to sites like 'we-give-$$$-4free.com' or 'hornynympho.com' is very likely to land you in a spot of bother.....
Prevention is always better than trying to cure it afterwards ;).

Having said that you still need a little bit of protection - MSE is a very good product for a FREE product (I've seen corporate / commercial products that suck worse than freebies). I use it in conjunction with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. Have had no real issues in at least last 3 yrs.
The only firewall that really works is a hardware one. Software firewalls are ok, but not the be-all. Of these, Windows Firewall (Vista/Win 7 version) is really really good, especially if you couple it with Sphinx Firewall Control - a freebie that integrates seamlessly with Windows to help you configure correctly Windows firewall - BOTH incoming and outgoing rules. Whoever said that Windows firewall doesn't do outgoing rules doesn't know wtf he's talking about.

I've also used Comodo. The firewall is brilliant (with sandboxie). The a/v was so-so, but that was about a year ago - don't know what its like today.

Only problem I encounter was I had to uninstall my Mcafee install. Plain sailing after that.

I finally got my laptop restored.

I got a blue screen when it restarted after installing the free comodo mentioned earlier.
    It also disabled my mouse.
I managed to uninstall it and do a system restore between the laptop restarting the explorer continuously.

I then did a system restore and enabled the mouse again using the Fn button.

    Strange behaviour.
I must have installed v5.8 and 5.9 (the free version) on at least 50 machines, between laptops and workstations, in the last 6 months. Never encountered a problem like yours.
The only thing I can think of, is that you installed it as a normal user as opposed to physically logging in as Administrator (not the normal account with admin priviledges).
I realise it shouldn't make a difference (and Microsoft says it doesn't), but it does.
