Hi, just wondering if anyone could help. My Toshiba a300 roughly 3 years old keeps freezing about 10mins after I switch it on! It's not hot or anywhere near hit when it freezing so I shouldn't think it down to overheating. Just wondering if anyone could shed some light on this? Would it be worthwhile getting the laptop looked at or would be better off getting a new laptop? It's mainly used for personal browsing, iTunes and watching DVDs. Thanks in advance!

Have you scanned the pc with anti-virus or anti spyware lately?

Yes do scans on a regular enough basis, but since the computer has started acting up- it freezes when I try and do any scan or defrag!

If you can get a Linux live cd.Set the bios to boot from the cd drive, run the pc on Linux and try and mount the windows file system. If the hard drive is shot Linux will let you know.
