Aquabike swim bike event

    Happy New Year everyone,

    Just wondering if there a duathlon in Ireland comprised of just swim and bike?
    Similar to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aquabike


    Has anyone seen this take place as part of a triathlon or as it’s own event, would like to complete in triathlons but due to may years of GAA, can no longer run..

    I haven't heard of any in Ireland. It could be an option to enter a triathlon as a relay team and then complete the first two parts and have a runner do the final third?

    Thanks Couerdelion and El director,

    I see these events are very popular in the States and their appears to be a few in the UK. Very good idea to complete the swim bike section as part of a relay. Will certainly look at that seriously.I see in the USA they occasionally run the aquabike event within the triathlon event

    Would also be nice to be able to complete an event in total though. May look into one of the UK events and see if there are any other boardsies that maybe interested ....
