Dundrum to Cherrywood route?

Can anyone suggest one for the road bike commute? Is this route suitable for commuting this time of year?

Google Maps offers the N11, I'd rather stay away of that many cars and their fumes. Although it would probably be lit up properly...

    Thanks.

I avoid n11 myself. I would go up Sandyford rd, continue straight over to enniskerry road, turn left at kilternan to ballycorus road and all the way down to brides glen road and you ll end on the right side of the business park. Probably longer but miles better route. The way back might get you tired if you find hills hard, there are a couple of nasty spots.

Is there any way into the park from Cherrywood Road I wonder? I think the mapper is wrong about the last bit where it turns right onto Bray Road and then goes all the way around just to avoid a small bit of N11.

PS: I don't mind the climbs and Ballycorus Road is only a drag if I remember correctly, unlike the one from Kilternan to Glencullen for instance.

Yeap that's it. The map is kinda wrong near cherrywood. At the end of the cherrywood road you turn left and there is a little park on the side that you can use to go inside the business park. Before the end though there is a path which is blocked with a barrier, you can use that too to enter.

You're right, the Ballycorus Rd is just a drag but Brides Glen is a fairly steep climb, nothing major though! It can be avoided if you want by want by going via Rathmichael Rd instead. There is no access from Cherrywood Rd into the business park (big elevation difference!) but there a cycle lane/path from the Cherrywood Rd/N11 junction that goes up to the estate.

See how close you can get to the green Luas line to follow its route.

Both the Luas and M50 go directly from Carrickmines to BridesGlen/Cherrywood. What a shame that there's no cycle track (and walkway) somewhere between them! :(
