Jack/wiring for old landline phone? :-)

Hi,

I'm sure someone in here can help me.

I accquired a really old (1960's I think) black bakelite rotary dial phone..

I would love to connect it in my house, if not possible I will just use it as an ornament.

I cut off the original round jack type thingy, now with the wires exposed I have:

RED wire
YELLOW wire
WHITE wire

All within the black cable/wire.

Could/should these just be wired into a "glass"/plastic jack thingy?

Just like a plug?

Any help greatly appreciated.

You can purchase retro phones, definitely less hassle. The older ones use pulse dialing, I don't know if that's still supported ect....

it's still supported, even some of new phones have switch pulse/tone, you can change to pulse and check

It was a freebie and it looks great, brings back memories of trying to get around the ol phone lock..
