A few things I can think of here:

    1. Something electrical is constantly draining the battery.

    2. The battery is just fecked and needs to be replaced.

    3. The alternator is not recharging the battery.

First thing I would do is get a battery tester and check the health of the battery.

How long is it staying charged?

Sounds like the alternator has given up the ghost as bazz said.

If this has only recently started happening then you probably have a dead battery, time to get a new one. The inability to hold a decent charge is the classic sign that a battery has reached the end of it's useful life i.e. it's knackered. I'm assuming (because you haven't said otherwise) that the battery is several years old, maybe even the original?

If the alternator isn't charging the battery there would be a warning light permanently on on the dashboard while the engine was running, usually a red or orange symbol of a battery....

My Friend has the same problem ,02 Skoda Octavia he got a new battery and it keeps going flat .He went to Myles Balfe to check Alternator and it was fine. ran a diagnostics found nothing. He removed his car radio as he thought that was causing the battery to drain over night ..So he's still not found the fault .Any ideas out there thanks ..

The light has been on in my car for about a year, battery and alternator are fine.

I'd check the voltage of the battery with everything off then check it again with engine running with lights, blower e.t.c on and give it rev

Should be about 12.5 when off and about 14 when on of alternator is ok.

Make sure your terminals are clean and tight aswell
